Community Scholarships A - C

Cal State East Bay students have many opportunities for scholarships offered by the community. They are administered by organizations other than Cal State East Bay: local businesses, charitable organizations, corporations, local Rotary Club, local Chambers of Commerce. Students apply for those in various ways (and meet various deadlines) to be considered. A list of community scholarships with links to the organization’s information page and application process, is available on the following table.

5i Solutions Document Management Solutions $1000 open to high school seniors and any student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program and winner of essay contest.
The 2015-2016 Fountains Scholarship Award $2,000 offered to college students interested in providing some type of locally beneficial change to the community. Must submit an essay or video describing career goals.
The 72 Degrees National Scholarship An Annual $500 award available to winner of essay contest.
A Better America Scholarship Program Awarding $1,000 to students. Must submit a (max.) 200-word essay.
A Place for Mom's Future of Senior Care Scholarship Award Five $1,000 scholarships to students enrolled in an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree or graduate level program in the fields of gerontology, long-term care administration, social work, medicine, nursing, or sociology at an accredited 2-year college or 4-year university.
AAC’s Behavioral Health Academic Scholarship $10,000 available in scholarships for those majoring in behavioral health, nursing, counseling, psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy or other programs focusing on treating mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
Abbott & Fenner Scholarship $1,000 to all high school juniors and seniors as well as students currently registered in any accredited post-secondary institution.
Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Awarding $1,000 to college students. Must submit a 500-1,000 word essay.
Absolute Dental’s “Dentist of the Future” Scholarship $2000 available for students pursuing a career in a dentistry related field.
Academic University Scholarship Awarding $1,000 to college student who submits winning essay of 750 words and has a GPA minimum of 3.0.
ACLS Medical Training Scholarship Program $1,000 scholarship offered to students at any nationally accredited college: nursing school, medical school, pharmacy school, dental school, respiratory therapy program, paramedic program, or emergency medical technician program.

Advanced Direct Security Scholarship $500 award available to students. Must submit a 500-700 word essay.
AED Superstore College Scholarship Awarding $1,000 to college students who can describe sudden cardiac arrest or automated external defibrillators. Must submit a 500 word maximum essay or a video under 3 minutes. Disability Scholarship Awarding between $500 and $5,000 for students with specific disabilities. Examples include: Learning, Visual, Speech, Autism, Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Orthopedic disabilities.
Annual Kenneth P. Carp Scholarship Awarding $1,000 to students. Must submit a 700-word essay.
Apartment List Scholarship Awarding $2,500 to students. Must submit an application and an essay (no specified word-count)
The Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship Awarding $1,000 to students majoring in Education. Must write a 500-word essay.
April Cockerham DREAM Act Scholarship Awarding $500 to students interested in defending immigrants. Must have a (min.) cumulative 3.0 GPA. Submit official transcript, resume and 700-word essay.
Astanza Q-Switched Laser Annual Scholarship Award available to students majoring in physics, Biology, Engineering, Medicine or Nursing. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Larry Acterman Public Education Award Award available to a high school senior graduating from a Long Beach Unified School District school, and who plans to enroll in a California teaching credential program at a 4-year public college or university in California.
The Acculynx Scholarship for Higher Education An annual $2,000 award available to current students at a four year college or technical school and winner of essay contest.
Actuary Scholarships A number of scholarships for financial assistance available for students pursuing actuarial science are provided.
ACWA Scholarships Two $3,000 scholarships awarded each spring to qualified students in water resources-related field.
ADP Legal Scholarship (Law Offices of Adam D. Permutter) $3,500 scholarship contest open to college, trade school or high school seniors who present the greatest argument.

Arizona National Livestock Show Scholarship Amounts of scholarship vary, depending on available funds and number of applicants.  Open to high school graduates currently taking 12 hours at college or university, a GPA of 2.5 and participation in the Arizona National Livestock Show.

Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) The purpose of the ANCA Scholarship Program is to award scholarships to U.S. citizen students attending accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing or anesthesia nursing programs. Complete information and application can be found by visiting sponsor’s website.
Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps Scholarship

Two, Three, and Four-year ROTC Scholarships are available for students pursuing a Baccalaureates or Masters degree and can provide either full tuition or up to $10,000 annually for room and board. Additionally, Cadets will receive other monthly stipends that help offset other costs. or 510-643-7682
Artistic Excellence in Print Design & Marketing Scholarship

$1,000 scholarship open to a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Graphic Arts & Design, or a related field, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and winner of a submitted marketing package.
Arts Recognition and Talent Search (ARTS) The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) is the exclusive nominating organization to the Presidential Ascholars Program sponored by the White House. NFAA nominates up to fifty ARTS finalists each year. Other scholarships also available at this site for students interested in or enrolled as art majors.
Aschere Energy Scholarship Awarding $500 to Engineering and energy-related major college students. Must submit an essay.
ASCO Numatics Scholarship Awarded for potential leadership and making a significant contribution to the enginering, instrumentation, systems, and automation professions, particularly as they relate to the application of fluid control and fluid power technologies. Must have complete Sophomore year as an Undergraduate or be admitted to a Graduate program and must be a US citizen or legal US resident.
Asian American Journalists Association Scholarships Students, undergraduate or graduate, are selected based on the following criteria: commitment to the field of journalism, sensitivity to Asian American/Pacific Islander issues, journalism ability, scholastic ability and financial need.
Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS)Fellowship The APAICS offers three fellowship programs to post-graduate and graduate students. The term of the fellowship is 9 months, and the student will receive a stipend of $20,000 for travel and boarding.
Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP)- San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Three $1,000 scholarships offered to undergraduate and graduate students attending any accredited four-year college or university located within the counties served by the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter. Auto Accident Survivor Scholarship $500 scholarship to college students with at least a 2.0 GPS who have sustained and recovered from serious injuries due to a car accident, truck accident, or big rig accident.

Car Accident Scholarship

$2,000 award offered to a college student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and will be attending law school in the Fall 2016 semester.

Career Step Scholarship Three scholarships open to high school seniors, single mothers and military service members and spouses​ and winner of essay contest.
Caregiver Scholarship A $3,000 award for currently enrolled or incoming college students who are seeking education in a field related to the injured and disabled. Student-Caregiver Annual Scholarship Offering $1,500 to college students that are caregivers for aging relatives. Must submit a 1,500-word essay or a 2-minute video.
Carpey Law Scholarship A $500 award available to incoming or current students attending a college in the United States and winner of essay contest.
Cash Auto Salvage Scholarship Two $1,000 scholarships available to current full time college or trade school student, high school senior, or an individual planning on attending next semester and has graduated high school within the past four years. Applicants must be in good academic standing and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Cash Store Scholarship Five $1,000 awards for a high school graduate who is 25 years of age and enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university or vocational/trade school and has a GPA of 2.75.

Anthony Castelli Attorneys Veterans Scholarship

$500 award available to a current military veteran or honorably discharged veteran or parent, sibling, child, or grandchild of a current or honorably discharged veteran.

Castlemahon History Scholarships A $2,500 award available to an American High School student entering college in the US for the first time.

Clark Scholarship

$350 award available to any student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited American college, university, or trade school.
Cliffside Malibu Scholarship Program $8,500 - $4,000 awards offered to students of many different interests and majors interested in creating compelling online content through the use of text, video or infographic.  See link for more information.
The Carpenter Bus “Extra Mile” Scholarship Awarding 2 undergraduate college students with $1,000. Must submit a 500-650 word essay and have a 3.0 GPA.
The Clubs of America Scholarship Award for Career Success $1,500 award offered to any current student of an accredited U.S. college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Essay submission required.

Computer Science and Computer Engineering Academic Scholarship Must be US citizen or a permanent resident, must have completed a min. of 45 quarter units, and enrolled in computer science, computer engineerin, computer information systems, software engineering, database management, computer networking, computer programming or information technology management.
COMTO Scholarship (Conference of Minority Transportation Officials) Must be a US Citizen, an Undergraduate student, only Sophomomore, Juionr or Senior may apply, must be enrolled fulltime; be a member of a miniority race, a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento area, and have a min. GPA of 2.4.
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Scholarship Both Undergraduate and Graduate students may apply. Must be enrolled full-time, show financial need, must be a US citizen or permanent resident, have strong writing skills, and show consistent, active participation in public and/or community services activities.
