Welcome!
When college students are asked why they chose to go to college the answers vary from year to year but two answers remain fairly consistent. College students say that they want to get a better job and make more money. These responses relate directly to career development which is why Cal State East Bay and the Career Development Center (CDC) are so dedicated to the career development concerns of our students and alumni.
Welcome to the CDC website which is designed to answer many of your career development questions. We redesigned these pages in 2008 to be more targeted to the needs of students based upon their academic colleges. We are happy that you are taking advantage of this important information and welcome feedback or suggestions for improvement.
While this website is a valuable resource, packed with current and relevant career information, it is not a substitute for specific career development processes that are more interpersonal in nature. Career counseling appointments, networking, and informational interviewing are examples of such processes that can contribute significantly to your career success.
I encourage you to come into the CDC to take advantage of our services and to meet with a career counselor. All of our services, including this website, are designed to help you clarify and attain all your career goals and we look forward to working with you!
All the best,
O. Ray Angle, Director, Career Development Center
