How to Apply to EOP

Fall Quarter 2010 (Only)

To apply for EOP admissions for Fall 2010, you must first apply to CSU East Bay using the online Undergraduate Application for admissions available at the CSU Mentor website. The CSU Undergraduate Application must be submitted with a $55.00 fee or fee waiver, if eligible. EOP at Cal State East Bay accepts First Time Freshmen applications for Fall Quarter 2010 (only) from October 1, 2009 to March 1, 2010. EOP will accept Lower and Upper Division student applications for Fall Quarter 2010 (only) from October 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010. Please note EOP at CSU East Bay only accepts new CSU applicants for the Fall term. Graduate students seeking a second degree are not eligible.

Step 1. Apply for admission to Cal State East Bay

  • Apply for admission online via the CSUMENTOR at web site with $55.00 CSU application fee or fee waiver.
  • Be sure to mark "Yes" to EOP Step 11 on the CSU Application to apply for EOP services.
  • Use the EOP link (on the CSU Mentor Admission Application Confirmation page) to access the online EOP.
    Application Information Form and EOP Recommendation Forms.
  • Submit official high school and/or college transcripts, and SAT or ACT scores (if required)
  • To check your CSUEB admission status go to the mycsueastbay website: https://my.csueastbay.edu/ or call the Admission Status Line at (510) 885-2784 for your CSUEB admission status.

Step 2.  Apply to the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)

You are encouraged to read the EOP information on CSU Mentor, You are required to submit the online EOP Application Information Form and two EOP Recommendation Forms. Have your counselor or teacher(s) complete their recommendation letters before the deadline date of April 30, 2010. (Adobe Reader is required to view the PDF format). When you submit your online CSU Admission Application to request EOP services, at CSU East Bay you will be required to do the following:

  • Submit the online EOP Applicant Information Form.
  • Submit two online EOP Recommendation Forms (For your counselor or teacher(s) to complete).
  • Proof of income may be required.
  • All special admit students are required to attend Summer Bridge.
  • Email: eopadmissions@csueastbay.edu for your EOP status.
  • Call the EOP Application Status Line at (510) 885-4683 for your EOP status and/or assistance.

Step 3. Apply for Student Financial Aid process for 2010-2011 at CSU East Bay

  • Go to the FAFSA website and submit the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2010-2011 between January 1, 2010 and March 2, 2010 for priority consideration.
  • Don't forget to list the CSUEB code 001138 on your FAFSA.
  • Visit the Financial Aid Office website for more information.
  • ALL EOP APPLICANTS MUST FILE THE 2010-2011 FAFSA!
  • Applying for CSUEB student Financial Aid is a separate process from the EOP admission process.

Step 4.  Take the CSU EPT/ELM Placement Tests

  • If you have not taken a college level English and/or Math class, you are required to take the English Placement Test (EPT) and/or the Entry Level Math (ELM) test at your local CSU campus.
  • We strongly recommend you take your EPT/ELM tests by March 2010, but no later than May 2010.
