So you want to be a Resident Assistant?

Are you a great role model? Are you an effective student leader looking to positively affect the college experience for many residents? Do you love getting involved in the East Bay community?  If so, then you may be Resident Assistant (RA) material!

Each year, Residence Life recruits some of the most dedicated and effective undergraduate and graduate students that East Bay has to offer! RAs live on a floor or in a building with their residents and work to meet the various needs of these residents. They work to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all the residents and assist in providing a great campus living experience!

RAs coordinate floor, building, and complex-wide events and programs including educational programs as well as community building programs.

Resident Assistants serve “on-call” and respond to the needs of our residents after-hours. Some “on-call” responsibilities include but are not limited to lock-outs, answering general questions, responding to medical needs, and addressing policy violations. Residents in need of help can call the RA on-call anytime the Housing office is closed.

Overall, RAs are responsible for supporting their residents in all aspects of campus living. Great RA candidates will be excellent role models, compassionate, and connected to the Pioneer Heights and East Bay community.
