Information for Faculty & Staff

Outreach

Counseling services believes that one of the best ways we can reach students is through our faculty colleagues on campus. We regularly visit classes to let students know about counseling services, and we are happy to present in your class about a topic related to counseling and mental health.

Here is a list of some of the topics we regularly present on:

  • Stress management and self-care
  • Relationships and boundaries
  • Communication
  • Domestic violence
  • Family issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Time management
  • Substance abuse
  • Culture shock

We can also design specific presentations depending on your needs. Please call us at 510-885-3735 for more information or to schedule.

Consultation

We regularly consult with the campus community about mental health concerns for students. Please do not hesitate to contact counseling services if you have concerns about a student. We can take information and we can guide you through steps which are likely to be helpful. Please call us to consult at 510-885-3735 and ask to talk to a counselor with a concern about a student. Please remember that because of confidentiality, we can neither confirm nor deny any information about a student/client, including whether or not they are a client of the center.
