Counseling Services
Student Health and Counseling Services offers individual, couples and group counseling, as well as urgent walk-in counseling services Our counseling services are totally confidential and your counseling records are not tied to your academic record. Counselors provide culturally sensitive, caring services for many issues that may hinder your success as a student at Cal State East Bay. All of our counselors are licensed and have earned a masters or doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy or clinical social work. We also have pre-licensed MFT interns who are supervised by our licensed counselors.
Individual Counseling
Short-term individual counseling is available for support due to stress, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, family issues, alcohol/drug use, or other personal concerns.
There is no charge for individual counseling.

Couples Counseling
Couples counseling is appropriate for any two people who are in a significant relationship. Counseling can help you improve communication, remove barriers that prevent intimacy, and effectively problem solve. Issues may include, but are not limited to, communication, conflict, cultural issues, sexuality, finances and family concerns. We welcome couples of all sexual orientations.
To be seen as a couple, at least one member of the couple must be a currently registered CSUEB student.
There is no charge for couples counseling.

Group Counseling
Group counseling is a great way to make positive changes in your life. It is a place where you can build trust and receive open and honest feedback from your peers. Group participants make an agreement that the content of the group sessions is confidential, and that what is said in group, stays in group. Groups meet weekly and usually have 6-9 members.
There is no charge for group counseling and sessions are unlimited.
