ANNUAL STUDENT JURIED EXHIBITION OPENING, AWARDS CEREMONY, CELEBRATIONOF ART DEPARTMENT'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

The Annual Student Juried Exhibition will open with a reception, awards ceremony for those in the exhibition and for the annual video and portfolio competitions, and celebration of the Art Department’s 50th anniversary from 5-7 p.m. May 8. The show will be open through June 9 in the gallery on the first floor of the Art and Education Building. Admission free. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Saturday, and 2-4 p.m. Thursday. The gallery will be closed March 30 for Cesar Chavez Day, and May 28 for Memorial Day.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR VETERANS

The Sategna Scholarship Trust is offering scholarships to returning veterans who are experiencing financial difficulty as college students.

Any veteran may apply but preference will be given to veterans who have served in a combat zone and/or suffer from a permanent, service-connected disability. The maximum amount of aid available for any individual is $5,000 annually. To apply for the scholarship, students complete the attached application along with a personal statement (details and criteria listed on the form).

All documentation must be received in the CSUEB Veterans Affairs Office no later than 3pm on Thursday, March 8, 2012. No exceptions for late entries will be made.
