Students are the heart of our mission at Cal State East Bay. The staff and faculty of Cal State East Bay are committed to your success and well being throughout your college career. Classes are small and the teaching is personalized and friendly. There is a wealth of support services to help you achieve your goals.
Academic Support
Many academic support services are available to assist you with advising, tutoring, planning, and developing skills to help you succeed in college and beyond. See the Academic Support section for more details about the many programs available to help all students to succeed.
Testing Office
The Testing Office on the Hayward Campus administers placement exams such as the English Placement Test (EPT) and the Entry Level Mathematics Test (ELM). These exams help determine which class levels are appropriate for you so that you can achieve greater academic success. Learn more at the Testing Office web site.
Health and Wellness
The Student Health Center, fitness facilities, health and wellness programs and extra-curricular activities assure students will enjoy a well-rounded college experience. Athletics and recreational fitness activities are plentiful and students enjoy state-of-the-art fitness facilities on campus.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS) is the student counseling service on campus, providing personal counseling services to all registered students at California State University, East Bay.
Cal State East Bay students can use the Recreation and Wellness Center (RAW) for 55,000 square feet of state of the art fitness rooms and programs, recreational activities, classes, and sports equipment rental. Visit the RAW web site to see the full list of facilities and programs offered.
Computer Technology
Support for information technology is strong across the campus. From the computer labs in the library Learning Commons to Internet access in the residence halls to our Online Campus, students stay connected with the campus community. MyCSUEB is the self-service system for choosing classes, keeping track of important dates, checking grades and your financial account. Blackboard is the academic interface that connects you with faculty, coursework and assignments.
Career Development
With a reputation for academic excellence and preparation for real world challenges, Cal State East Bay graduates are in demand by many top employers. Our Academic Advising and Career Education (AACE) office invites employers to recruit on campus for jobs in a variety of fields and industries.
Transportation and Safety
Getting around campus is convenient using campus buses, Alameda County (AC) Transit, and the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system. It’s easy to get to classes, housing, dining commons and student unions on foot. Catch a shuttle to the Hayward BART station nearby for access to the Bay Area’s many cultural and outdoor attractions. Cal State East Bay’s Campus Police are committed to student safety and provide law enforcement and emergency services to the entire campus community.
Student Records
Student records are managed by the Office of the Registrar. Our helpful staff is here to assist you with enrollment, registration, drop/add, grades, transcripts, holds, withdrawals, and your diploma. Visit the Student Services and Administration building's first floor enrollment services to find student services, cashier, and veteran's office.
Staying Connected
Most student enrollment records are accessible through your MyCSUEB account. Be sure to check your Horizon e-mail regularly for official notices from the University, payment reminders, enrollment information and other important information about classes, policies and procedures.
Student Affairs and Student Life and Leadership
Student Affairs Office coordinates many aspects of students campus experience and to coordinate with other divisions and functions on campus. Office of Student Development and Judicial Affairs
The Office of Student Development and Judicial Affairs addresses conduct issues in a manner to facilitate the ethical development of students, to encourage respect for the campus community, and to hold students accountable for violations of the Student Conduct Code.
