Graduation Status
After you file for graduation and pay the $45 graduation filing fee automatically charged to your student account, your graduation evaluation will begin. You can check on the current status of your graduation evaluation by visiting MyCSUEB and selecting the “Graduation Status/Commencement” link. The graduation status options you will see are as follows:
- Applied – application for graduation received
- In Review – verification of degree requirements in progress
- Awarded – verification completed and diploma ordered
Transcripts and Diplomas
Once you see that your degree has been “awarded,” within 24 hours you will be able to request a transcript. Your diploma will be ordered after your degree is updated to “awarded” status, and will be mailed to your permanent address within 6 to 8 weeks.
Steps to Complete Your Graduation Processing
To assist Cal State East Bay in expediting the processing of your graduation, please do the following:
- Check your Cal State East Bay Horizon e-mail daily. A graduation evaluator may contact you with questions or instructions.
- Check with your major department (and if appropriate, your minor department as well) to ensure your major check has been completed and sent to your graduation evaluator.
- Undergraduate students should additionally check with the University Advisement Center (UAC) to ensure all General Education (GE) requirements have been met.
- Students who file for graduation will receive a confirmation letter after the graduation filing deadline for the term. The letter will include a timeline of when your degree will be posted and when your diploma will be mailed. Degrees typically are posted within 2 to 4 months after the last term of enrollment. Due to the high volume of students graduating in the Spring, degrees are typically are posted within 3 to 6 months after the end of the term Spring quarter.
