Debby De Angelis
Director of Athletics
Debby De Angelis (M.S., Massachusetts, 1979) was named to her current position in 2001, the first woman ever to have the job at CSUH. Previously she served as associate director of athletics at Towson University in Maryland. She has served on various committees of the NCAA and as vice president of the California Pacific Conference. She also helps FISA, the international rowing federation, to stage championships throughout the world, including the Olympics. She has been involved with FISA in a variety of capacities since the 1970s and worked for that organization at both the 2000 Olympics in Australia and the 2004 Olympics in Greece.
Assistant Athletic Director
Dawn Ellerbe was a student athlete at the University of South Carolina, competing in Track and Field. She was a four time NCAA Champion and American Collegiate record holder in the hammer. She competed in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney Australia and placed 7th. Ellerbe worked in college athletics for nine years as a volunteer coach at the University of South Carolina until 2004. The New York Athletic Club recognized Ellerbe as its first female for the Athlete of the Year award. During the 2000 Olympics, Ellerbe represented her team at international press conferences, television, and radio appearances.
