Health and Wellness

Student health and wellness is a priority at Cal State East Bay. From recreation and sports facilities, to health care or counseling on campus, students can find what they need to stay healthy.

Student Health & Counseling Services

Our Student Health & Counseling Services is a fully accredited outpatient clinic staffed by Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Nurses. Health Services include basic medical care for most illnesses and injuries and various elective services. Counseling Services include provide individual, couples and group counseling, outreach services and urgent care.

Immunizations for Incoming Students

Immunizations against Measles, Rubella, and Hepatitis B are required for all students being admitted to Cal State East Bay. Submit your Immunization form with your application documents. For more information, see Immunization Requirements at the Student Health & Counseling Services Web site.

International students are required to have the Tuberculosis (TB) skin test.

Recreation and Wellness Center

Opening in early 2011, the new 54,000-square-foot Recreation and Wellness Center is located directly across from Pioneer Heights student housing. The new state of the art facility houses a multi-court gymnasium; elevated jogging track; fitness center; multipurpose fitness and activity rooms for aerobics, martial arts and dancing; locker rooms; juice bar; and administrative offices. Intramural sports such as basketball, volleyball and badminton, as well as fitness programs such as weight training, with free weights and weight machines are offered at the center.

Current CSUEB students paying the University Union Recreation student fee will have free membership to RAW for each relevant quarter. CSUEB Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Emeritus, and Retirees are all eligible for a membership with the quarterly fee.

Fitness Classes and Teams

Choose from many fitness and recreation activities at Cal State East Bay. The Physical Education building complex houses a 3,500 seat gymnasium, two swimming pools, training rooms, basketball courts and a spacious weight room with cardio and strength training equipment. Outside facilities include the University Stadium for soccer, softball and baseball fields, tennis courts, and a running track. Visit Fitness Classes and Intramural Teams for more information.
